Accepting help from a toddler has been one of the biggest challenges of my life so far. You have to be graceful and encouraging, when inside you're screaming. You have to accept that every job will take at least three times longer than it would ordinarily.
Washing up with the aid of a toddler entails an awful lot of mopping up afterwards, and the laundry will need sorting out several times to assure that no rogue items (such as red socks, stickers, and small plastic horses) have made their way into the machine.
The two jobs that are actually more fun with a toddler are vacuuming (because she shadows me with her toy vacuum cleaner, even holding the cable out of her way as she goes!), and pairing socks. It's lovely to see Harriet get so excited about two socks being "THE SAME!!!"
